In 2000, Actel acquired GateField, which expanded Actel's antifuse FPGA products to include flash-based FPGAs. In 2004, Actel announced that it had shipped one-millionth of its flash-based ProASIC PLUS FPGAs. In 2005, Actel introduced a new technology called Fusion to bring FPGA programmability to mixed-signal solutions. Fusion is the first technology to integrate mixed-signal analog functions with flash memory and FPGA architecture in a single-chip device. In 2006, to address tight power budgets in the portable market, Actel introduced IGLOO FPGAs. The IGLOO FPGA family is based on Actel's non-volatile flash technology and ProASIC 3 FPGA architecture. Two new IGLOO derivative products were added in 2008: IGLOO PLUS FPGA with enhanced I / O capabilities and 2G low-power solution IGLOO nano FPGA.
